英文變好~英文變好~咦?!念這句沒用?

今天在練習英文聽力時有個問題如下：

(woman)　　Would you recommend the hotel where you stayed in New York?
(man) 　　　 The hotel provided service that was unequaled!
(narrator) 　WHAT DOES THE MAN SAY ABOUT THE HOTEL?

(A) The service at the hotel wasn't too good.
(B) This hotel gave excellent service.
(C) The service at the hotel could have been improved.
(D) This hotel's service was the same as the service at other hotels.

當然，英文不太好的我選錯了，我一眼瞥過就選了(A)。對答案發現錯了，再看過一次錄音內容，我還是搞不清楚錯在哪，這有點嚴重啊，應該是我誤會了 unequaled 的意思了，一查如下。

unequaled adj. 1. 無敵的；無比的 2. 無雙的 3. 極好的

喔，心裡直覺有趣..因為依照我的推論如下：

equal 相等的 → unequal 不平等的 → unequaled 有差的

所以就選了個意思為負面的答案，看來我是個負面思考的人啊，覺得太特立獨行的事物就會被批評成不好的。但是在英文裡好像不是這樣思考的，應該是像下面。

equal 相等的 → unequal 不平等的 → unequaled (鶴立雞群的 → 極好的)

唉~我的英文果然還是需要多多努力，而且還要多加點正向思考的力量到腦袋裡！
